Harrogate Town have secured the signature of ex-Chester captain John McCombe on a permanent deal until the end of the season.

The central defender brings experience to the Town dressing room having made over 300 appearances in his career, the majority coming for Port Vale. McCombe was named Chester captain at the beginning of the current campaign and has made 23 league appearances for the side currently 22nd in the National League.

Town’s newest arrival started his career at Huddersfield Town, but has gone on to play for York City and Macclesfield in recent years.
