Harrogate Town have bolstered their squad with former Southport, Brighouse Town and AFC Emley striker Ruben Jerome.

Jerome, brother of Norwich City forward Cameron, has risen up the non-League Pyramid this season after impressive form with Toolstation Northern Counties East League side AFC Emley earned the forward a move to NPL First Division North outfit outfit Brighouse.

Town’s newest recruit scored a hat-trick on his debut at the West Yorkshire club, and eventually earned a move to National League Southport in November before joining up with Weaver’s squad following his release by the Sandgrounders yesterday.

Meanwhile, Marcus Day has joined Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North promotion-chasers Ossett Town on a month-long loan deal.

The young striker was watched by his new club during Tuesday night’s West Riding County Cup tie with Bradford Park Avenue, and will go straight into the squad for today’s clash with Colne.

Day had made a dozen appearances this season for Simon Weaver’s side in all competitions, scoring two goals
