It has been a truly remarkable pre-season behind the scenes at Harrogate Town.
Whilst manager Simon Weaver has been busy building a squad capable of challenging once again in the Vanarama National League North, the rest of the off-field team have been working tirelessly to strengthen and enhance the club’s foundations.
Head of communications Daniel McGeachie, who joined the club in May, commented: “First let me start by thanking everyone at the club for the heartfelt reception I have received since I arrived. It is a privilege to be at Harrogate Town, and I could not have asked for a warmer welcome.
“My first priority when I joined the club was to undertake a full assessment of our operation, to understand where we lacked vital infrastructure and build upon what already existed.
Work began with intensity from the moment I arrived and I’m delighted to say that we’ve now installed processes and structures which wouldn’t look out of place at a Football League club.
“Some of the exciting developments include the redesign our youth development programme, the much lauded launch of Harrogate Town Ladies FC and a brand new approach to working with our valued community and commercial partners.
On a personal note, I’m delighted that our e-commerce platforms are expanding, with supporters now able to buy match tickets online, and very shortly being able to access all our replica kit and merchandise via a brand new online store.
“In any environment, transformational change often brings with it temporary turbulence. This has been especially apparent this summer, in no small part because we’ve undertaken major projects at the same time as the redevelopment of The CNG Stadium!
However, I’m incredibly excited to put the plans into action and let all the fans see the progress we have made. With the first team squad now back in pre-season training, we can all look forward to a new season with renewed optimism and vigour”.
