Hartlepool United have confirmed the termination of ‘a small number’ of staff contracts, while all staff and players have been asked to take a 20 percent reduction in wages for March.

With the COVID-19 pandemic casting huge doubt over the 2019/20 season resuming, Hartlepool are one of many clubs frantically trying to safeguard their future. National League Pools have said in an update this afternoon:

“As such, over the last few days we have made some difficult decisions, which have included asking all staff and players to take a 20 percent reduction in March wages. In addition, we have unfortunately terminated the contracts of a small number of members of staff and put the jobs of an additional few at risk of redundancy.”
