Whitehawk have announced the addition of Helder Silva to manager Pablo Asensio’s backroom staff
Silva, 36 and originally from Portugal, joins The Hawks in the role of chief scout and will assist Asencio with recruitment and development with players whilst at the club.
He previously worked at Eastbourne Borough for four-and-a-half seasons until January 2015, working as a performance analyst scout for the National League South side. He also assisted Asensio behind the scenes following his appointment as manager in February.
On what brought him to The Hawks, Silva said: “I met Pablo a month after I left Eastbourne Borough. After he was appointed manager, I offered my services to him and our friendship became really strong because Pablo saw the best in me, which for me is important, as after four and a half years in my previous role, it didn’t give me the chance to show what I was made of.
“My relationship with Pablo is fantastic. We work really well together which is very beneficial for the team, which worked well last season as we made the play-offs and now we are preparing for the new season, right down to the minimal details.
I’m grateful to Pablo and the Whitehawk FC Board of Directors for this opportunity to work for the best club in the National League South”.
