Hednesford Town chairman, Steve Price has confirmed his intention to put The Pitmen up for sale in order to try and find new investors to take the club forward.

During an open meeting held with Hednesford Town Football Club Supporters Association (HTFCSA) members on Friday evening Mr Price confirmed that he would put the football club up for sale – with interested parties set to get the chance to find out more in the coming weeks.

Mr Price said: “I’ve been involved with Hednesford Town Football Club for 24 years and I feel that the time is now right for me to try and sell the club onto someone else in order to take it forward in the coming years.

“I’m not getting any younger and I’ve always said that I wanted to make sure that the football club can continue to function – and now I feel the time is right for me to begin a search for someone to be able to do that.

“Ideally we’d all like one individual to come in and take the club forward but we’re open to hearing from all other avenues as well.”
