Worcester City captain Tyler Weir has left for Hednesford Town. The former Hereford full-back, 26, moves back up two levels to join the Northern Premier League Premier Division club.
Weir decided to stay with City after their three-division demotion from National League North to the Midland League Premier Division.
But Hednesford have since submitted a seven-day request to speak to the Ledbury-based player who has opted to leave for the Staffordshire outfit.
Weir, who can also play in midfield, said: “I have loved my time at this club and it has been a very difficult decision to make.
“After having discussions I felt that at this point in my life this is an opportunity I couldn’t turn down.”
