Forward Nyal Bell has become Neil Aspin’s latest signing at Gateshead, agreeing a two-year deal at the International Stadium.
19-year-old Bell was released by League One side Rochdale last month.
He put pen to paper on his first professional deal with the Dale a year ago, having made his bow for the first-team the season prior.
In total, Bell made three appearances for Rochdale at senior level, his first a cameo in a 1-0 win over Coventry City at Spotland.
He was loaned out to Droylsden and Chester last time out, figuring three times for the Blues in the Vanarama National League between February and March.
Following the capture of Reece Styche last month, Bell becomes the second new forward to link up with the Tynesiders this summer.
Assistant manager Lee Nogan is delighted with the Heed’s business so far, and feels that Bell can add another new dimension to the side’s frontline.
He said: “It’s pleasing to get another player through the door and to see the squad taking real shape.
“Nyal is a young, athletic striker who is prepared to work hard and willing to learn to go on to the next level.
“Again, he’ll give us something a little bit different to the other forwards we have at the club.”
