In a move many would not have seen coming, attacker Ashley Hemmings has left Salford City just two months after joining, to sign for divisional rivals AFC Fylde.

The 27-year-old was a summer arrival for the recently-promoted Ammies, but he will instead be playing his Vanarama National League football this season at AFC Fylde. The former Plymouth Argyle and Walsall man has signed a two-year deal with Dave Challinor’s side, and he told the club’s website:
“I’m at the age of 27 now and I want to be playing most weeks. At the moment it is not something they could guarantee me; thankfully I’ve gone from there to another great club.
“I found out on Saturday that Fylde were interested. I knew they were a great club with fantastic facilities and they were unlucky not to get promoted last season.
“Hopefully, I can help them to achieve that this season.”
