Hendon held their nerve to win the Middlesex Senior Cup after the final against Bostik Premier rivals Staines Town went to penalties.

The final was decided on spot kicks after the game had ended goalless after 90 minutes.

Gary McCann’s men, though, were indebted to a fine triple save from keeper Tom Lovelock in the dying minutes of normal time to keep them level.

In the subsequent shootout, Sam Murphy, Josh Walker, Ashley Nathaniel-George, Daniel Uchechi and Niko Muir all converted their penalties.

It meant that when Lovelock saved Elliott Buchanan’s effort for the Massive, Hendon had won the cup.
