Hereford FC’s Head Coach Marc Richards has urged his side not to let their season ‘fizzle out’ after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Alfreton Town, the Hereford Times say.

In a match of few chances Hereford took the lead through a second half Mike Symons penalty only to see Richard Penikett equalise after Matt Yates saved their initial effort onto the bar.

With four games remaining, starting with a trip to Southport this weekend, Richards has urged his side not to let their standards slip after drawing 2-2 with Stockport County on Saturday.

“It wasn’t exactly a spectacle but the game was pretty competitive, said Richards.

“They (Alfreton) were competitive all over the park and made it really difficult for us.

“But we weren’t at the same levels (tonight) as the second half against Stockport.

“However you put it we weren’t at the levels we need to be but we’ve come away with a 1-1 draw.”
