Hereford FC have announced that Kyle Finn has joined on a permanent deal from Coventry City.

The 20-year-old midfielder originally arrived at Edgar Street at the end of October on an initial one-month loan deal, and after impressing during the first month, saw his stay extended for a further month at the beginning of December.

With his loan deal expiring on 5th January, talks have been ongoing with his parent club Coventry City, over making the arrangement a permanent one and we are pleased to confirm that Finn has now signed for The Bulls for the rest of this season and next.

Head of Football, Tim Harris said: “Kyle is someone we’ve known for a while and has shown a great commitment and desire to sign for ourselves and we are pleased that he has agreed to make the switch and join us on a permanent deal.

“He, like Tom Owen Evans and several others, have a bright future in the game and it’s important that we look after these players as we ourselves look to progress. The whole squad is coming together and the work Marc and Will are doing on the training ground is showing that we are getting more and more competitive each week, as the recent results against Kidderminster, Chester and Chorley have proved.

“However, we are always looking to improve the squad and increase the competition for places as and when the right player becomes available.”

Finn has made 11 appearances for The Bulls during his loan-spell, and Harris says that the midfielder appreciates that the competitiveness of the National League North is helping him to improve as a player.

“After being at Coventry City for many years Kyle feels that the benefit and opportunity to play first-team football in the Vanarama National League North is the best way for him to progress his career.

“He is very ambitious and has very bright future ahead of him, hopefully, he’ll continue to develop as a player over the coming 18 months.”
