Experienced centre-back Josh Gowling has joined Hereford FC.
He has most recently been on loan with Alfreton Town, but the former Hereford United defender joins on a permanent deal after he reached a settlement with parent club Torquay United that enables him to return to Edgar Street on a permanent deal.
Speaking to the official Hereford FC website, the 35-year-old said that he hopes to bring a composed and commanding presence to the side: “I think I’m quite calm and collected. When the pressure is on, that’s when I come into my own, and I’m a bit more relaxed.
“It’s about seeing out games. When you’re on top, getting that finish, and then when your backs against the wall just being together, being solid and being organised.”
Head of Football Tim Harris added: “it’s that experience and calming influence and leadership qualities that we have been lacking. With Josh here, hopefully, that will help us settle down in certain stages of games where we need to just calm things down a little bit.”
