Herne Bay have secured the services of striker Zak Ansah.
Ansah had spells with Sydenham Sports club and Charlton Athletic before joining the academy at Arsenal at the age of ten. He made his way through the club’s youth system, making his debut for their under-18 side at the age of just 14.
Ansah has represented England at both Under-16 and Under-17 level but has committed his international future to Ghana. On 4 December 2012, with Arsenal already qualified for the next round of the competition, Ansah was named as a substitute for the club’s Champions League group stage match against Olympiacos, but remained on the bench during a 2–1 defeat. At the end of the 2013/14 season, Ansah parted ways with Arsenal.
He subsequently joined Charlton Athletic on a two-year deal, and spent periods on loan with Plymouth Argyle and Newport County, where he made first-team appearances and scored an abundance of goals.
In August 2016, Ansah joined Woking for the 2016/17 National League season. A long-term injury kept him out of the side. Following his departure in June 2017, Ansah had a spell in Sunday league football, before joining Hythe Town.
Following the conclusion of the 2017/18 campaign, he registered 20 goals from 19 appearances, after netting thirteen times in ten consecutive games. In June 2018, Ansah agreed a new one-year deal with Hythe but was released by them at the end of the season because he still wanted to play football for YouTube Sunday side SE Dons.
In total, from 61 league and cup appearances, he scored 51 goals for the Cannons.
