Notts County manager Neal Ardley has said that striker Wes Thomas is currently refusing to train with the squad due to COVID safety concerns.

Ardley spoke about the former Birmingham City man as part of an update today, explaining:

“Wes has concerns over COVID and the way things are in the country at the minute. He’s refusing to train with the group.

“As a club, we need to do the right thing. The pandemic is bigger than all of us and we’ve accepted his request in respect of his safety concerns.

“We’ve put a bespoke training programme in place to keep him away from the group for the time being, so we can keep him fit to make sure he’s in a good place when he feels safe to come back in.”
