Dover Athletic manager Andy Hessenthaler has labelled Saturday’s opponents Notts County as the best team his side have faced so far this campaign.

The Whites come up against the fifth placed Magpies at Meadow Lane this weekend, having drawn 2-2 in the reverse fixture in October.

Dover were on course for three points at Crabble that day before Kristian Dennis netted a 90th minute equaliser to claim a draw.

Notts County have won four of their last five league matches, but Dover have won eight of their 13 league matches on the road this season, leading Hessenthaler to believe his side are capable of securing a result.

“For me, they’re the best side we’ve played this season,” he said.

“I know we drew 2-2 at home and they scored a late equaliser, but I thought [that given] the players they’ve got in their squad.”
