Andy Hessenthaler saw his injury-depleted Eastleigh side fall to their third defeat in a row against Maidenhead on Tuesday night.

Despite a promising performance in the first 40 minutes of the game, where Michael Green hit the post and Mark Yeates’ close range strike whistled just over, the side were ultimately undone by Josh Kelly’s quick-fire double at the end of the first half.

However Hessenthaler, who has been forced to make numerous changes due to injury, isn’t too down hearted.

“We’re not getting the rub of the green at the moment,” Hessenthaler explained.

“It’s frustrating but I can’t fault the boys’ performance.

“I thought first half we were in the game as much as them, but we have to take our chances.

“We’ve hit the post, Yeates should have scored and we also had a shot and header blocked on the line.

“But if we keep working hard and stick together, then things will change.”
