Dover Athletic manager Andy Hessenthaler admits his side need to find some leaders on the pitch.

Tuesday’s 4-0 defeat at Aldershot saw Whites slip down to 11th in the National League table and Hessenthaler said his team fell well below the standards they had set in winning six of their opening seven away games.

Dover face another road trip on Saturday when they travel to fourth-placed Barrow – who have won six from six – and Hessenthaler says it’s time for the players to stand up.

He said: “We haven’t got any leaders, we haven’t got any leaders in the team.

“We’ve got experience in the team but we’re 4-0 down (at Aldershot), we’ve got a free-kick in their half and we go back to our goalkeeper. What’s that all about?”
