Hitchin Town boss Mark Burke has wished outgoing coach Brett Donnelly well as he takes up the Stotfold manager’s job.

Speaking to the club’s website, Burke said: “I would like to thank Brett ‘Digger’ Donnelly for his service to the club and me personally as both a player and coach over the past two seasons.

“Despite this period being very frustrating, Digger has worked tirelessly to improve our squad and coaching infrastructure, and I believe has helped us become a united, exciting and strong group, which will I am sure will reap the rewards of his efforts.

“It is a great opportunity for him to cut his teeth as a manager at a progressive club which has benefitted from another one of our former players in Luke Gregson. We have always had a close relationship with Stotfold and I can only see it getting stronger with Digger at the helm.

“I would like to wish Digger the best of luck in his new venture and I am always here if he needs any help. All the best Burkey and all at Hitchin Town FC.”
