Gainsborough Trinity have strengthened the side with the addition of Elliot Hodge from National League neighbours Lincoln City.
The young wide man has joined up with Steve Housham’s side prior to the journey to Stockport County on Saturday.
A fast, direct winger, the son of former Nottingham Forest and England international Steve Hodge, Elliot is a teenage midfielder who joined the Imps in early February 2015 following a successful trial.
Hodge, who worked his way through the Nottingham Forest youth set up before serving his scholarship at Notts County, spent a short time at Sincil Bank and impressed their manager Chris Moyses enough to be handed his first professional contract.
He linked up with Spalding United and Stamford AFC in a bid to get some valuable match time under his belt and now looks to further his development with the step to Gainsborough.
Housham said: “Elliot played a game against us a while ago and he has all the attributes to be a good signing for us. He is a good, pacey winger and is just what we need to keep the players on their toes. I’m not about to sit back and accept where we are at and I certainly won’t accept anyone settling for it either. He is a good one to have on board and he’ll go straight into the sixteen for Saturday.”
