Lee Hodges, the new manager of Vanarama National League South club Truro City, has announced the signing of River Allen and Andrew Neal as well as six members of last season`s squad.
Midfielder Allen impressed in five games for the White Tigers when on loan from Plymouth Argyle in early 2015, but his stay at Treyew Road was cut short by injury.
Allen, who now returns to the club for the start of the news season, came up through the youth ranks at Plymouth where he made four appearances.
In February 2016, he joined Bodmin Town and played twenty-four times for the South West Peninsula League and Cornwall Senior Cup-winning team.
Striker Andrew ‘Rocky’ Neal joins from Bodmin.
He signed for Bodmin in September 2015 and subsequently scored 60 goals in just forty-four appearances.
He has already shown his ability to step up to higher levels, scoring 9 goals in seven pre-season games during a brief stay at Tiverton Town last summer and also had a trial with League Two side Yeovil Town in the same period.
So far six members of last season’s squad have signed new contracts.
They are Aaron Bentley, Cody Cooke, Tom McHale, Arran Pugh, Jamie Richards and Shane White.
There are some names from last season’s team missing from that list (other than those whose release or departure for another club has already been announced). However, with the resolution of the managerial and coaching situation and the return of players from holidays, Truro expect to be making more announcements in the coming days on the make-up of the squad for the 2016/17 season.
