Liam Hogan has been appointed Stockport County captain for the new season.

The former Salford City defender takes over from previous captain Paul Turnbull, who left County this summer.

Hogan told the club’s website: “Personally, it’s a role I enjoy. With the on-field leadership qualities we have, we are really strong in that area; leaders such as Ash Palmer, Jordan Keane and Sam Minihan, who have an association with the club and its success stories of recent years.”
