Stuart Beavon wants to put the Chesterfield disappointment behind him with back-to-back home wins, say The Leader.

Wrexham face Hartlepool United at The Racecourse tonight with the Reds also at home to Gateshead on Saturday. Sam Ricketts’ side go into the double header on the back of a seven game unbeaten run, although Wrexham had to be content with just a point from a 1-1 draw against Chesterfield at the weekend after conceding a stoppage-time equaliser.

Beavon isn’t dwelling on Saturday’s stalemate and wants to hit back with three points tonight as third-placed Wrexham head into the game only one point behind National League leaders Leyton Orient.

“We were disappointed to concede a late goal,” said Beavon. “It is a draw at the end of the day, it is not a loss, and we are still on a good run, there’s no disputing that.

“It was disappointing not to get the three points but we will move on and we go again. We need to look forward now, it is Hartlepool at home and we need to go out there and put in another performance and get some more points on the board.”
