Neill Hornby has called on Barrow AFC’s fans to pack Holker Street tomorrow when they welcome promotion hopefuls Aldershot Town.

The caretaker manager was delighted with the support the team received in the 3-2 loss at Chester midweek as they fought back from being two goals down early on, only to be denied by Lucas Dawson in the dying seconds.

That defeat dropped the Bluebirds into the Vanarama National League relegation zone, but Hornby hopes the Barrow public will get behind the team as they take on a side fighting it out at the other end of the table (3pm kick-off).

“It will be tough, but bring it on,” said Hornby. “I hope the fans get behind us and we need them now.

“Let’s get two or 3,000 there – that would be amazing, because the lads need you and we need you as a football club.

“The support at Chester, they were absolutely fantastic singing throughout and that’s why I took the lads across at the end.

“It’s brilliant when they stay to the end and applaud them off, and I’d just ask them to come down in numbers and get behind us. We’ll keep going.”
