Chester FC have announced that defender Evan Horwood has signed for the club on a one-year deal
Horwood, 30, who featured on loan for Chester for one game back in 2006, becomes Jon McCarthy’s fifth summer signing; following Blaine Hudson, Elliott Durrell, Ross Killock and Liam Roberts through the door.
The left-back has spent the last two seasons at Northampton Town after leaving Tranmere Rovers in 2014 – but was with Grimsby Town for their promotion charge at the end of last season on loan.
The Billingham-born man has a wealth of Football League experience – including over 100 appearances for Hartlepool between 2010 and 2013.
Speaking after putting pen-to-paper, he said: “I can’t wait to get going. The Gaffer has been brilliant with me – I only live about 15 minutes from Chester – so it was a perfect move”.
