Bryan Hughes admitted Wrexham’s dire run of form is ‘killing’ him as the pressure mounts on the under-fire Reds boss.
Aldershot scored in the fourth minute of injury time at The Recreation Ground to seal a 1-0 victory and leave Wrexham without a win in seven league outings.
There was more misery as Wrexham dropped into the relegation zone as AFC Fylde – tomorrow’s opponents at Mill Farm – beat Eastleigh in the late kick-off to climb out of the bottom four.
When asked how he feels about Wrexham struggling at the wrong end of the table after 11 games, Hughes said: “It is killing me. I have got the utmost respect for the fans and the club in general.
“The club that gave me my opportunity to have a crack at a career in football.
“I always said one day I wanted to come back and help the club try and achieve something.”
