Jeff Hughes was pleased to help Tranmere Rovers into the next round of the Buildbase FA Trophy.

Rovers defeated Ryman League South side South Park at Prenton Park and Hughes got on the scoresheet from the penalty spot.

He told Tranmere PlayerHD why he is the current penalty taker at the Club.

“I’m enjoying it at the moment. My name wasn’t even in the hat for penalties but they did that much arguing that I got them!

“I’m glad they’ve come my way and we’re looking dangerous from corners as well which is getting me some assists.

“I’m getting a lot of the ball so I’m over the moon with how it is going at the minute.”

When asked about the sending off of Ritchie Sutton, Hughes expressed some surprise that he was dismissed in the manner he was.

He added: “It’s very rare you even hear Ritchie swear because he’s not that type of guy, I just can’t imagine him saying something that would get him a red card.”
