FC Halifax Town’s Connor Hughes is keen to move on to Tuesday night’s game against Eastleigh after Town felt defeat against eventual league champions Cheltenham Town.
Dan Holman struck twice in the first half which was enough to give Cheltenham all three points and crown them as champions, leaving Halifax Town in the relegation zone, Hughes said:
“I thought it was a game of two halves really, I thought we did reasonably well in the second half. Obviously the goals in the first half were disappointing, coming here against a Cheltenham side it’s going to be hard.
“It’s always difficult (coming on as a substitute), it was literally jump on ‘you’re on’, so it takes time to get into the game. It was a difficult game to come onto but like I said I thought we did better second half.
“I think it was ten minutes, they scored one then scored two and that obviously sets you back. We are disappointed but we have got to go again Tuesday.”
Matty Brown again missed out through injury and Hamza Bencherif was forced off with a hamstring injury mid-way through the first half which saw Kevin Roberts deputise at centre back with Jake Hibbs forced into a makeshift right back, Hughes added:
“You are going to miss big players, I have said before we are going to miss big players before, hopefully they will be back sooner rather than later. I am not sure about Browny’s (Matty Brown) and hopefully Hamza’s (Bencherif) isn’t too serious because we need them.
“Kev (Roberts) can play anywhere, he was different class and there is no problem with Kev.”
