North Ferriby United owner Carl Chadwick hopes hosting Hull City in a pre-season friendly can have a huge impact on the club’s finances.
The Tigers announced plans yesterday to travel to the Chadwick Joiners and Builders Stadium on Monday night, July 30, and compete for the Billy Bly memorial trophy in their final fixture of pre-season.
Coming just two days after the trip to League One Barnsley, Nigel Adkins will no doubt be keen to see those who didn’t play at Oakwell put through their paces against the Villagers ahead of hosting Aston Villa on the opening day of the season.
As such, a number of first teamers are likely to be on show and given Ferriby’s recent financial woes, Chadwick is more than delighted to be able to welcome the Tigers hopes the revenue generated can stand the club in good stead.
“It’s great for the club,” Chadwick told the Mail. “Hopefully we can get some people down to the ground to watch and get a bit of money to start the season with.”
