Hungerford Town have issued an apology for an incident involving a supporter in Tuesday’s game with Truro City.

The statement is as follows:

‘I have been made aware of an allegation of foul language, possibly from one of our players, which was directed at your player as he took the penalty on Tuesday evening. We have undertaken to investigate who exactly said what and as a club we will consider taking the appropriate internal disciplinary action pending the results of those enquiries.

In the meantime and on behalf of Hungerford Town FC, please accept our unreserved apologies to the Truro City supporters and players who witnessed the alleged comments. It is in no way indicative of our club, or the sporting way in which we strive to play the game, as can be evidenced by our disciplinary record this season which is amongst the best in the league.

Once again please convey our sincere apologies to anyone offended by the language.

Mike Hall
Hungerford Town FC’
