John Pemberton said he takes ‘full responsibility’ for Chesterfield’s poor start to the season and admitted it is ‘not good enough’, report the Derbyshire Times.

The Spireites crashed to 3-2 defeat at Altrincham on Tuesday night and are now third bottom of the National League after losing six of their opening eight games.

Speaking after the defeat to Altrincham, Pemberton said: “I am disappointed with the result. We had enough chances to win the game but that is the way it has gone for us.

“I am disappointed full stop with what is happening but I have to take full responsibility.”
