Southend United defender John White says he has no intention of leaving as the club bid to navigate a return to the EFL next season.

The 34-year-old former Colchester United man has been with the Shrimpers since summer 2013 and is the club’s longest-serving player.

Speaking to the club’s website, he explained:

“I said when we went down from League One that it feels like unfinished business.

“I don’t feel like I can leave with things as they are.

“Ultimately, it’s not down to me, but I want to be here to fight and help push back in the right direction and building the club up to where it should be.”
