The Basildon Standard report that Glenn Tamplin will remain in the Billericay Town dugout for their clash with Dartford tomorrow, but he expects to appoint a new boss in the coming days.

Billericay have been without a manager since Harry Wheeler was sacked at the end of last month.

And following the departure of first team coach Tristan Lewis – who has joined Wheeler at National League side Maidstone United – Tamplin confirmed he will be in charge this weekend but the fans can expect a new man at the helm next week.

“I will be in the dugout until I find a replacement,” said Tamplin. “We have got a lot of good options and I am looking to appoint a new manager by Wednesday.

“I had a chat with Steve Watt about the job, but we couldn’t come to an agreement.

“I offered him £400 per week but he wanted £500 per week, so I didn’t call him back and I never offered him the job.”
