Barnet manager John Still says he will be dealing with on-loan Cheltenham Town striker Manny Duku as a matter of club discipline, Gloucestershire Live report.

Despite being stretchered off during the Bees’ win over Hartlepool United on Sunday, the 25-year-old was fit enough to start in their FA Cup replay against Bristol Rovers on Wednesday. However, he was substituted after just 35 minutes, prompting angry scenes as he kicked the dugout before appearing to be sent to the dressing room by his manager.

Still says he could not risk having an unfit player out on the pitch and will be dealing with Duku – but he could also understand the player’s frustration.

He said: “He came off on a stretcher on Sunday, he hurt his knee.

“He’d recovered okay and looked all right in training but after about 15 minutes, I didn’t think he was getting round the pitch enough and he had to come off.

“If he wants me to leave him on when I don’t think he’s fit, he must think I’m mad. He didn’t like coming off and I didn’t like the way he reacted, so I’ll deal with that.”
