In the first of a new feature we ask a fan to step into the dugout of their favourite club and plan the summer ahead.

First up is Maidenhead United supporter Josh Dunn, as he steps into Alan Devonshire’s shoes with the recently promoted National League club.

Which players would you make a priority to keep in the squad?
Well there is one player that I am sure everyone in non-league is aware we want to keep and that is National League South top goalscorer David Tarpey but his right hand man Mr #headonastick Sean Marks is a must-keep.

But a fair few players if not all of them deserve to be playing in the Maidenhead squad next year but the likes Of Sam Barratt could be a rising star next year but just have to see Also captain Alan Massey and Dean Inman two must keeps and I can’t write this without mentioning of course our keeper Carl Pentley havent seen a better keeper at this level in a long time. Harry Pritchard and Ryan Upward are two very promising players but I just think the whole squad deserves a mention, they are a top bunch of lads. Sorry for players left out but all were a class act last year.

Which players would you let go?
Well it’s quite difficult to say in a Champions squad which players you would let go. A couple have departed already. Jordan Cox and Jack Parkinson, but the latter we only had on loan.  They were two excellent players. Cox in all honesty didnt have much game time last year so think its right for him to have left to get game time elsewhere but no one else deserves to be left behind.

They all deserve their chance because they all worked hard for where they are.Maidenheadunited

Realistically where do you think needs strengthened?
Well strengthened isn’t the word I would use but think we do need more options in certain positions. Up top being one of them just in the later stages of games and the tougher games that we will need a different option we have already picked up a couple of players so we are getting business done early.

Also we need to pick up a centre back/full back as back up and a couple versatile center mids/wingers but other than that think we have a good bunch of players.

Do you have any realistic targets in mind for incoming transfers?
As I said we have done a bit of business already.

In all honesty I would like to see Alex Wall come back as he is out of contract, but not sure that will happen have already got another option upfront now so the chances are slim.

Maybe some top players from the league below that deserve a chance in the National League is more realistic for our budget but, as we have proved, we are good at getting the best out of our resources.

What are your targets for next season?
All in all I think we need to just keep our national league status but you never know we could sneak mid table and maybe it’s a big ask but think it’s possible even a play off place.

But I think to get mid-table would be a amazing first season.

Are there any other changes you would make?
Well of course going up a lot of changes will be seen round the club I’m sure (chairman) Peter Griffin has a lot in the pipeline and I can’t wait for our first season as a club in the National League
