Ilkeston Town chairman Alan Hardy has cited a change in his personal situation during the past year as a factor behind costs at the club needing to be scrutinised.

Head coach Lee Fowler left the club this week after winning the Midland Football League Premier Division, stating that ‘the vital relationship between myself and the club’s owner has frayed to breaking point, and created a situation untenable for both Alan and myself.’ In an advert for the position, Hardy has said the following:

“We would like to place on record our thanks to Lee in guiding the team over the finish line last season.

“Unfortunately, my personal situation has changed somewhat in the last 12 months and now every cost centre has to be scrutinised to ensure the club has a solid and stable foundation for future growth.

“We are inviting applications from local candidates who believe they have the contacts, relationships, coaching experience and managerial expertise to compete at this level and higher.”
