Vanarama National League club Lincoln City have handed a trial to former Standard Liege forward Erwin Senakuku.
The Belgian has been training with the Imps this week, along with another triallist, Hull City youngster Johan ter Horst.
Manager Danny Cowley has been impressed with the pair and plans to decide whether to take his interest any further over the New Year weekend.
Senakuku was on Standard Liege’s books as a youngster before spending two years with RFC Seraing.
Cowley and his assistant, brother Nicky, watch football from all over the world and were impressed with the 22-year-old, who has family in Lincoln.
“As you can imagine, we get a lot of calls about trials,” Danny Cowley told the Lincolnshire Echo. “Senakuku has been playing in the top division in Belgium and he has a very good agent. It just happens that his family live in Lincoln as well.
“Location has allowed us to have the first sneak at him”.
