Injury-hit Vanarama National League South club Bishop`s Stortford have been adding to their squad ahead of the weekend.
Former Colchester United midfielder Byron Lawrence has joined the club, after having his contract with the Sky Bet League One club cancelled by mutual consent recently.
The young midfielder joined the U`s on a one-year deal after he was released by Ipswich Town.
The 19-year-old left the Weston Homes Community Stadium side after making one appearance for the club against Sheffield United last season.
He has found his first-team opportunities limited since then and leaves the U’s in the search of regular football.
Lawrence came through the youth academy at Ipswich but only made one first-team appearance in his time at the club.
The Blues have also signed young defender Jack Fowler from Ryman League Division One North side Heybridge Swifts, where he had only been for a few weeks after signing from Evo-Stik League Southern Division One Central outfit Ware.
After joining from Grays Athletic in the summer of 2014, Fowler made his debut for Ware from the substitutes bench in the 2-2 draw at Maldon & Tiptree on 19th August 2014.
By the end of the season he had completed twenty first-team appearances and then established himself as a regular in the squad until his recent move to Heybridge.
Midfielder Luke Milbourne has also been re-registered after being out on `dual` terms with Brightlingsea Regent and Tilbury this season
