The Isthmian Youth League and Croydon FC have announced exciting new partnerships with sports social media company Sportswik – a dedicated social media app and media platform for team sports.
The deals see the highly-respected Isthmian Youth League utilise the Sportswik platfrom to showcase its 40 teams – giving players, coaches and fans the opportunity to post video, images, comments to contribute to the match-day experience. It follows a deal in which Isthmian joined forced with Bostik to promote its senior league.
And Croydon FC – which features teams in the Southern Counties East Football League and the newly names Sportswik Isthmian Youth League – will become Sportswik’s Non-League ambassador club and will carry the Swedish tech-firm’s name on its shirt.
The partnerships follows successful trials of the app last season and coincides with the UK launch of the innovative sports social media platform.
So far, Sportswik has invested over £4 million in the developing the free-to-download app which, in just three years, has grown rapidly across Sweden – where it already hosts 45% of the grassroots football teams as well as gaining significant take-up in hockey and other teamsports.
Next season it will be introduced across youth leagues, disability football and the non-league game in the UK – with the London FA also adopting it across its cup competitions.
Sportswik CEO, Martin Wiklund said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to partner with Isthmian and Croydon FC. When it comes to sports social media Twitter and Facebook can’t rival Sportwik’s functionality – which is why it has proved so popular in the Nordics. We have spent the summer adapting the app to the needs of grassroots football in the UK and can’t wait to get started.”
The partnership with Croydon FC is non-financial and Sportswik will “keep the shirt warm” while Croydon FC re-establishes itself says Chairman Martin Burr:
“This gives us a platform to professionalise what we do and show potential backers that we are open for business as a progressive and innovative club. We are supremely confident that with Sportswik now on board, we can lay the foundations to build – both on and off the pitch,” he added.

They can also view their team via their desktop omn the Sportswik media platform at www.sportswik.com.
