Dunston UTS have passed on the chance to hike ticket prices for their upcoming Emirates FA Cup clash with neighbours Gateshead.
The Northern League Division 1 club produced a remarkable 4-3 victory over Chester FC of the Vanarama National League North at home last Saturday. Their reward for the win was a fourth qualifying round tie at home to Steve Watson’s National League side.
Many have called for the game to be chosen for coverage by the BBC, as Dunston host the Heed as the lowest-ranked team left in the competition. Despite the increased attention, the club have made the decision not to push ticket prices up beyond £6 for adults and £3 concessions for the huge fixture, which will take place next Saturday (20th October).
In response to a tweet highlighting the low prices during this cup run, the club tweeted:
‘It’s not fair to rip fans off who come in week in, week out to watch the team. Hoping the cup run can increase our core fan base and people recognise their support is valued.’
