Kem Izzet has joined East Thurrock United as first-team coach.

It follows the recent departure of Paul Vaughan, who has left to concentrate on his expanding business. Izzet is best known for his time at Colchester United, where as a midfielder he made close to 500 first-team appearances and skippered the side.

He then spent four seasons at Isthmian Leaguers Needham Market, where he combined playing with managing their highly-rated academy set-up. Most recently, he has been managing Eastern Counties League side Stanway Rovers.

His brother is Muzzy Izzet, who also enjoyed a lengthy career in league football, predominantly with Leicester City.
