Braintree Town captain Jake Hutchings has been named as the club’s new player-manager.

Hutchings will be working alongside the club’s former manager George Borg. During his tenure, Borg led the Iron to the Isthmian League play-offs, the title, and the Conference South play-offs over the course of three seasons (from 2005 onwards).

Chairman Lee Harding said of Borg and the link-up between him and Hutchings: “An excellent and experienced coach, I think the pair of them will compliment each other really well.”
