Maldon and Tiptree have appointed former Manchester City midfielder Kevin Horlock as the club’s new First Team Manager.

Horlock, aged 43 joins the club following a recent spell as manager of Ryman Division One South side, Chatham Town. He has also been involved with Needham Market Reserves and their Academy, along with the Northern Ireland under 21’s.

As a player, he appeared for several professional football clubs, including Manchester CityMALDON AND TIPTREE from 1997 until 2003, appearing 206 times and scoring 39 goals in the process. His other clubs include Swindon Town, West Ham United, Ipswich Town, Doncaster Rovers, Scunthorpe United and Mansfield Town. and was capped by Northern Ireland on 32 occasions.

The club also confirmed that Liam Bailey has left the club and has been replaced by Mark Levey as Kevin’s new Assistant Manager; Mark was the club’s Goalkeeping Coach last season.

Horlock has given a short statement following this news saying “I am really excited to be appointed as manager of Maldon & Tiptee Football Club, it is a great opportunity for me as Steve Ball has left me a squad that is very, very strong.

The squad finished the season in in great form and I can’t wait to get going and carrying on the good work Steve Ball started, in giving the football club everything to get The Jammers out of the Ryman Division One North.”
