The flurry of recent managerial changes in non-league continues at a pace, with Jay Saunders leaving his role at Margate.
Mike Sandmann, who has been working alongside Saunders, is also leaving the club. After his remarkable spell at Maidstone United came to an end early on this season, Saunders eventually returned to management, and his old club, as he took the Margate job.
The Gate say that ‘Saunders is now leaving the club after fulfilling his task of keeping the Gate in the Bostik Premier League. Everyone at the club wishes Jay the best and we thank him for his hard work and professionalism during his time as manager.’
Thanks were also given to Sandmann, who was joint-manager with Steve Brown before staying on to work with Saunders: ‘Mike has been at the club for over two seasons and has had a very positive impact on the team in both a coaching and management role. Again, we wish Mike all the best with his future in the game.’
