This past weekend saw Macclesfield Town return to action the Vanarama National League as they entertained play-off rivals, Wrexham at the Moss Rose.
The two sides couldn’t be split on the day and played out a 0-0 draw, which saw Macc remain in twelfth in the league, seven points off fifth position.
However, the result brought to an end the disappointing run of results the Silkmen had endured recently and also saw a first clean sheet since Tranmere Rovers at the start of January.
First Team Coach, Byron Jenkins was full of praise for the Silkmen and was also delighted to see the return from injury of Danny Whitehead.
He said: “The work ethic from the team this week was a lot better, we played with a lot more energy and the introduction of Danny Whitehead back in the side made a big difference.
“Naturally Danny is an energetic footballer in midfield and he had a great performance today along with others, George Pilkington saved our skin a few times at the back, Jack Sampson had a good go roughed them up a bit and Andy Halls.
“But all in all it was the whole team who lifted the bar today and we are pretty happy with the performance.”
