Director Rosemary Johnson has been elected as the new chairman of Woking Football Club.
Rosemary was vice-chairman of Woking Supporters Club, chairman and founder member of the Trust and is a shareholder. Rosemary and her family have been supporters of Woking for over 40 years and they are season ticket holders.
In her professional life Rosemary works for the Citizens Advice Bureau supporting elderly and vulnerable people and the tribunal service dealing with complex disabled benefit issues. She was a borough councillor for 16 years being the Mayor for a year, managed a local housing association, is patron of LinkAble and was awarded the MBE for services to local disabled people.
On match days she is often to be found in the shop talking to fans and usually stands on the corner of the disabled area by the KRE.
Rosemary believes that the fans are the lifeblood of the club and looks forward to guiding the club forward to its next successful season.
Meanwhile, following the news of Derek Powell’s resignation, the club were delighted to announce that Geoff Chapple will take up the post of football secretary with immediate effect.
Chapple will combine this role with his Director of Football duties.
