This weekend, Macclesfield Town will entertain recently crowned champions of the Vanarama National League, Cheltenham Town at the Moss Rose.
The Silkmen go into the game on the back of a 1-0 victory in the last home match against struggling Guiseley, thanks to a goal from returning midfielder, Paul Lewis.
That victory ensured Macc are now unbeaten in their last nine games in the league and John Askey’s side will be looking to extend that to ten this weekend.
However, Gary Johnson and Cheltenham will be looking to end the season on a high and it won’t be an easy task.
Johnson spoke to the press in his pre-match conference and reflected on the previous meeting in the league between the two and was full of praise for Macclesfield.
Johnson said: “They were one of the best teams at the time when we beat them, they looked decent and at the time, I thought they would probably run us close.
“But, they had a spell where they fell out of contention, but now all of a sudden they’ve found a good bit of form and I think there in the top two or three in the form table, so it’s an interesting one.
“They’re a good football team and we will have to make sure we don’t go there and just watch their football, we’ve got to make sure we play a bit of football.”
