Dean Keates is ‘optimistic’ he can bring at least one more fresh face to Wrexham before Friday’s transfer deadline, but was not ruling out the possibility of making further additions through the loan market following the end of the January transfer window.
The Dragons chief has been active so far in the January window, bringing in Dan Jarvis (18-months) and Davis Keillor-Dunn (end of the season) on permanent contracts while also securing Jordan Ponticelli on a loan deal from League One high fliers Coventry City.
Keates has been vocal in his search to freshen up an ailing Dragons squad he inherited from previous boss Bryan Hughes, and insists he still has a number of irons in the fire.
“I’m optimistic that we will get at least one in before the window closes,” said Keates.
“But even when the window closes we’re still open to loans, etc, whether there are one or two permanent deals in we will have to wait and see.”
