Wrexham boss Dean Keates has brought in winger/forward Jonathan Franks on a contract until the end of the season.
A former Middlesbrough trainee, he returned for a second spell with Hartlepool United last summer but left when his short-term contract expired and a transfer embargo on the club meant they couldn’t extend his deal further.
The 27-year-old, who scored six goals in 22 appearances during the first half of this season, is comfortable playing on either flank or in a central striking role and has been training with St Johnstone since leaving Hartlepool.
“I had a word with Nicky Deverdics when I learnt of Wrexham’s interest and he said I would enjoy playing here, so here I am,” said Franks. “It’s been a bit of a whirlwind, a mad 24 hours, but also enjoyable and I’m looking forward to getting started.”
