Dean Keates is focused on the job in hand and won’t get sidetracked by speculation that only three clubs will be relegated from the National League this season.
Rumours suggest that a trio of teams will do down from the fifth tier instead of four due to the demise of Bury, who were expelled from the English Football League in August after 125 years of membership due to unpaid debts.
A decision has yet to be made on the make-up of the football pyramid for the 2020-21 campaign and with that in mind, Keates is just concentrating on ensuring 19th placed Wrexham, two points above the bottom four going into Saturday’s home game against Torquay, guarantee safety.
“What happens with the league and how many get relegated, I can’t affect them,” said Keates.
“We can’t affect them as a group and as a football club.”
